F&B-$18.32 per Hour

Culinary-$19.50 per Hour

Training Dates: 5/4/2026 to 10/30/2026


This opportunity is for 6 months.   At the successful completion of this assignment you will have the extraordinary opportunity to apply for an extension to another AJ1 host property.    Having the chance to experience two different training opportunities is truly an incredible benefit especially for someone who is passionate about building a long-term career in hospitality. Although 2nd placement cannot be guaranteed, to date AJ1 has placed 100% participants who requested extension from their initial program.  


Participants who choose to extend their program after completing their initial placement will have their extension fee waived and will be responsible for paying the remaining balance of a full twelve-month program. 


About the Location

Mackinac Island is a charming and historic island located in Lake Huron, between Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas. Known for its car-free streets and picturesque beauty, it offers a unique and relaxing getaway. A popular summer vacation destination since the 19th century, Mackinac Island occupies 3.8 square miles at the intersection of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. The entire island is a National Historic Landmark, with more than 80% preserved as the Mackinac Island State Park. Bicycles and horse-drawn carriages give the island a truly historical vibe, as motor vehicles have been prohibited since 1898. Mackinac Island offers a peaceful and timeless experience, perfect for those seeking a relaxing and scenic getaway.

Shared Onsite housing. Dorm style housing with communal common areas and shared bathrooms. Bedrooms are shared with roommates of same gender.
